Next Frontier Energy Summit

Providing energy innovators, researchers, developers and stakeholders a place to network, collaborate and champion the Wyoming energy industry.

Thank you for your interest in the Next Frontier Energy Summit! This year’s summit was held on May 6 & 7, 2025, at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

The two-day summit was more than just an educational event—it was a gathering place for energy innovators, researchers, developers, and industry stakeholders to connect and collaborate. By bringing together experts from diverse sectors, the summit fostered meaningful discussions and strengthened Wyoming’s energy industry as a whole.

WEATHER & HIGH-ALTITUDE PRECAUTIONS
Typical Laramie Weather in Early May:

  • Average High: 56°F (13°C)
  • Average Low: 32°F (0°C)
  • Average Precipitation: 1.52”

Altitude Considerations (7,165 feet / 2,184 meters above sea level):

  • Stay hydrated—drink twice as much water as usual due to the dry climate.
  • Limit alcohol intake—its effects are stronger at higher altitudes.
  • Adjust physical activity—if you normally run 10 miles, start with 6 miles.
  • Use sunscreen—there is 25% less protection from the sun’s rays at this elevation.
