Wyoming Energy Authority Announces Opening of Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund Applications
The Wyoming Energy Authority has announced that applications for the newly created Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund officially opened today with all first round concept papers due on July 1, 2026.
Created through Senate File 123 during the 2026 Wyoming Legislative Session, the Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund is designed to support projects that strengthen Wyoming’s position as a national leader in energy production, infrastructure, and innovation. The program will provide loans and grants for qualifying projects tied to Wyoming’s energy industries and emerging energy opportunities.
The Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund reflects the State’s continued commitment to maintaining affordable, reliable, and dispatchable energy while supporting economic growth, job creation, and national energy security. Eligible project categories include but are not limited to coal, oil and natural gas, pipeline infrastructure, enhanced oil recovery, uranium, rare-earth and critical-mineral development, transmission infrastructure, and other strategic energy investments identified under the legislation.
The fund is expected to collect up to $105 million through severance tax revenues over the next two years and will be administered by the Wyoming Energy Authority.
“The Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund is putting Wyoming’s resources to work, supporting transformative projects, and ensuring Wyoming is a leader in energy production and distribution as energy demand continues to grow across the country,” says Wyoming Energy Authority Executive Director Rob Creager. “This program allows us to partner with industry, leverage private investment, and advance projects that strengthen our economy, support communities, and reinforce America’s energy dominance.”
The Wyoming Energy Authority will release application materials, program guidelines, and additional information today to help prospective applicants prepare for the July 1, 2026 submission date. The program will follow a structured review process that includes concept papers, full applications, public comment opportunities, and review by a multi-agency committee before final recommendations are made.
